Hello, I'm Abigail Whiston, or you can call me Abby. I've been playing soccer since I was 5 years old, and have played the position of goalkeeper since I was 7 or 8 years old. Soccer has made me a more confident and courageous person, especially when I'm playing in a position that requires a lot of courage. I mean getting a ball kicked at your face can be scary, but the more I play, the more exhilarating it becomes. If there was one thing that has rendered me from being able to get where I am, besides having to get over the fear of getting hit, I'd say it would have to be my height, but I've never really let that get in my way. In fact, that is the one thing I have never stopped trying to improve, and this past year I have most definitely improved on. How far I have come in soccer has really influenced how I go about everything else. Every year my schedule seems to become more and more packed and time-consuming, due to the number of teams I'm on, and all my schooling. From this I have learned how to juggle it all, and how to be more responsible with my time, which will be very helpful in college, so I'm told.
Although soccer is a big part of me and my life, I do a couple other things in my spare time that I love doing almost as much. I enjoy reading a range of different genres, from mystery to Sci-Fi novels. I also use my free time to even write my own novels and short stories. During my college education, I would like to pursue Architecture. I would like to become an Architect/Architectural Engineer. I've found the idea of building my own house amusing, and have already come up with my own designs, so I'm hoping to make one of them a reality after college. I do realize all the work that goes into it, all the confusing math, and different techniques involved, but just as much as I'm willing to put the work in for soccer, I'm willing to put in the work to achieve this dream.
