My ultimate aspirations in athletics is only about doing the best I can do and I know the best I can do is being one of the best runners the country and I am willing to put in the work every day ensure that aspiration is put into reality, through hard work determination and drive. I understand that there will be days where I will not have the motivation to push further and train any longer, and that's when I climb past that to become a better athlete, something you see that most athlete's can't do. My persistence isn't just about running through the pain, the rain, or reaching what I cannot obtain, it's about running despite the utter lack of motivation telling me just to stay in and give up. Being so driven by an inner voice telling me that this will all be worth that I show up to practice and train the best I possible can despite everything going on, mentally or physically. That is what sets me apart as an athlete. My persistence as an athlete is what can drive me to be the best for the team and myself. As for academics I not only try and challenge myself through advanced courses and AP classes, but strive to ensure I can retain and understand the content to the best of my abilities so I don't just do well on tests, but I can use this information outside of class. I can dedicate myself to whatever subject I am working on so I am not just passing the class, but I am striving for the best within that subject. Most students might just do a quick study session the night before a test so they can get that good grade and move on, but I set myself apart to really envelop myself in the subject at hand in class and push to fully learn the subject outside of just test scores. Whether it be in athletics or academics, I am not willing to just go with the grain and follow everyone else in the path of least resistance, but I will stand apart and push myself to do what is right and what is best, not what is easy.
