I have been playing basketball since the age of six and have loved it ever since. Both of my parents were very good basketball players which strives me to surpass them in my basketball career. Since I am from a small village in Alaska, I have faced a lot of alcoholism and drugs among my peers. I am determined not to be a negative statistic. No one has ever been very successful coming out of where I'm from and I would like to be the first to make my community proud. I have become mentally tough, determined, and passionate by working hard in the gym and in the classroom my whole life. I am known as a hard worker, a tough competitor, and a good friend, son, and student with strong character in all I do.
I have played on a competitive statewide travel team since 3rd grade. As a freshman, I was one of two athletes to make the 4A varsity only team and I am working hard to be a starter my sophomore year. I was selected to play on a 19U team as a 14 year old in the Arctic Winter Games in 2016 and traveled to Greenland to compete, winning the gold medal for Team Alaska.
My goal academically is to maintain a GPA of 3.5 while taking several honors classes until graduation. For college I would like to graduate with my Master's Degree in Sports Medicine while pursuing my basketball career at the college level.
