Jaden Dougal '21 Recruiting Profile

Making the Junior Varsity team at Rockwall High School my freshman year was an amazing accomplishment. Although I have been playing volleyball since the fourth grade, I only started setting the summer of 2017. The whole summer I was in the gym every day working hard to become the best setter I could by tryouts. To be able to have made the team as a setter was a dream come true and playing with older girls boosted my confidence as well as my level of play and court presence. 

To have come so far in my game in just a short amount of time, taught me a lot about perseverance and grit. I learned that those long days that you spend in the gym either running drills or conditioning really make the difference when tryouts come around and the reward is definitely worth it. I still have a long way to go, but I make sure that everything that I do, I do with 100% effort and that it is helping me in my game and therefore, helping me to reach my goals.
