Both of my parents were athletes, and insisted I play a sport while growing up. Basketball started for me at a young age, when my friends asked me to join their YMCA team. Even though I was initially shy as a girl, through basketball I’ve realized that I perform well under pressure, and have become a leader, not only on my teams but also at school and in life. I want to be the best player possible, and continue to work daily through individual skills and team practices to get to that level.
Basketball has enabled my confidence to grow, which has allowed me to take Pre-AP classes since the 6th grade. Even though I am only in the 8th grade, I am also beginning the process of under-graduate college selection. My desired major will probably change several times, and therefore I am concentrating on finding a college that provides excellent academics and the ability for me to continue playing basketball.
