Hannah Ledgerwood '21 Recruiting Profile

My Name is Hannah Ledgerwood and I am finishing my 8th grade year at Hosanna Christian Academy.  I started playing volleyball when I was in the 5th grade.  I started playing YMCA volleyball and have since moved into club volleyball in the 6th grade.  I have always played up a grade level but this year was the first year that I moved up as a true 14U to play on my clubs 18U Elite team, where we got to travel and play in the CEVA league in Oregon.  It was a great learning experience that allowed me to grow as an athlete physically, mentally, and emotionally.  I have enjoyed taking private lessons from the head coach at Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), Andrew Clifton.  I have learned a lot of tips and tricks of setting and have enjoyed that experienced a lot.

My goal this summer is to continue to learn and grow in the sport.  I plan on continuing my private lessons, take private group lessons with a few girls on my club team, and do plyometric/jump/strength training.  I do plan on attending 1 or 2 volleyball camps this summer,  as well.  I am going to work hard to try and make my varsity high school team in the fall.  

I enjoy spending time with my friends but my favorite thing to do in the summer is to spend time with my family on Lake Shasta boating, wake boarding, and swimming.  My family has helped make me the person I am today.  Both of my parents were collegiate athletes.  My dad played soccer and my mom played volleyball at Gonzaga University.  My mom has spent a lot of time training and coaching me.  I am very competitive and some may call me feisty but I am working on taking those qualities to the court in a positive way.
