All through the 2017 JO season, and summer training, I had one goal: to continue to improve my game. I had just finished my first year of high school volleyball playing all JV positions in the rotation, and dressing for varsity. But I really wanted to start varsity. I worked really hard in JO, really hard with my team during summer workouts, and attended a camp at the University of Dayton to get more instruction. And my hard work paid-off; I made varsity as a starter and led the team in kills! I was also awarded NWCC First Team All Conference Team and the OHSVCA District 9 Division IV All District Team. I was one of only three Sophomores named "All State" , receiving a 2017 Honorable Mention award.
Seeing my hard work pay off in volleyball teaches me hard work in the classroom will also allow me to reach my academic goals. I know I will go to college because higher education is important to me. And I am beginning to understand the type of career I want. I am in the honors science program and this year I am taking chemistry and anatomy. I am really interested in anatomy and I want to learn more in the area of medical science. One of the biggest reasons I am interested in a medical degree is people.; I enjoy life most when I am interacting with and helping people. My goal is to play volleyball in college; I love the game and want to play as long as I can, facing the challenge of playing with and against the best at the highest level of volleyball I can achieve. And I look forward to using my love for volleyball as the path to an education and a career I will love.
I will be a positive addition to a team because I am committed to demonstrating leadership, determination, and teamwork. I will be there to make myself better but will never forget I am part of a team. Plus, I have a giant smile, and I'm always ready to make everyone laugh and have fun playing volleyball.
