Hello, my name is Sadie Reedy and I attend Manchester High School where I am currently enrolled as a Freshman. I have been blessed with a strong supporting cast to include a younger sister who also loves volleyball, a mother and father who sacrifice to allow me to pursue my passion, and many friends of varying ages and backgrounds. It is important for me to stay active, and I have found that playing volleyball year round for my school and J.O. has provided me that opportunity. My experience of playing volleyball began in the 6th grade, and I have enjoyed being a student of the game since first stepping on the court. Primarily, I have been positioned as a setter. However, I often play all around, and have found defensive specialist to be of particular interest as well. I believe my strengths of speed and court awareness allow me to act as a dependable member of the team. Especially as a setter, I have learned that my team is dependent on me to act as a primary leader. I have found that my energy, guidance, accountability and positive attitude have significant impact on the outcome of our team collaboration and morale. It has been an honor to be recognized as a team leader, and I am fully aware of what that responsibility entails.
While volleyball is my passion, I would place it 5th in line of importance to me. God, family, critical relationships, academics, and then volleyball remain my order of importance. Playing volleyball throughout college is a strong desire. Attending a college where academics comes first remains even more important. I am consistently a 4.0 GPA student who maintains involvement in the Leadership Council, taking great pleasure in the development of team membership and leadership development through extra-curricular activities and acting as a tutor. I am also currently pursuing the National Honor Society which will allow even greater exposure to community support events.
Currently, my college interest lies in the Business Management field. However, I have also found that I have a personal draw toward social work. Success in helping friends and peers through challenging situations has helped me to identify a potential gift and interest in this area, and I have found my interest level continue to grow in this field.
Although somewhat under-sized for volleyball, I am a disciplined hard worker, who turns a deaf ear to those who tell me I can’t do something. I’m looking forward to becoming a valuable and reliable asset and supporter of the college I am blessed to partner with.
