Hi my name is Gia Marinelli, class of 2020. My primary position is Middle Blocker, I also play Outside Hitter. I play for Topsail High School in Hampstead, NC. This year I played varsity as a starter for our school team. I was selected as an All Conference Team player. I am playing my 4th year of travel club. I am currently playing travel volleyball for Cape Fear Volleyball Club on the 16's National team. We play at Monument City, Queen City Classic, Big South, Orlando, and Washington D.C. Last year I played for NC Coastal Volleyball Club on the 15's national team, we also played at MAPL. I have attended UNC and UNCW summer camps as well as the USA Volleyball High Performance A2 team training in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During the off season I enjoy playing beach volleyball and competing in tournaments.
I am a hard working student with a GPA of 4.15 currently taking honors classes. I am preparing myself to enroll in early college classes next year. I was freshman class secretary for student council, volunteered for elementary school events and Poplar Grove (a rescue/foster organization for neglected and abused animals). I am currently in a club called Pink Bowz for breast cancer awareness and T.U.F.F. club which raises money to send military troops care packages. I have also participated in Dig Pink events raising money for cancer research and helping a local family battling with cancer.
