Hi, I'm Emma Dahlen and I'm a Freshman at Harry D. Jacobs High School. I have been playing volleyball since I was nine (9) years old. I realized I wanted to play college volleyball when I was eleven (11) years old. I always admired the players from a young age. I became interested in the sport in third grade and went to my first camp when I was in fourth grade. I fell in love with volleyball, then began club volleyball. I have played outside, middle and setter, so am a pretty well-rounded player but am primarily a setter. This recent school season, I was on the sophmore team as a freshman for my high school, was a starter and never subbed out of games the entire season. I was Captain and showed leadership on the court.
One of my best moments as a volleyball player was my first high school game for my team. We took on a well-known very hard team, worked hard, played together and won in three sets! We had some amazing plays, saves, kills and digs. Even when we lost a point, I helped the team focus on being positive and we cheered each other on.
Aside from volleyball, I always try my best academically. I usually maintain A's and B's and am in a couple Honors classes. I am in Spanish II as a freshman. I am very interested in art as well. For a major, I am still deciding the many options available. I am open to most colleges as well as offers and options each may provide. To conclude, I just hope to encourage my teammates, make my parents proud and be proud of myself in all I accomplish!
