I am very passionate about volleyball and intend to continue to pursue playing at a high level, while still attending a school with rigorous and challenging academics. I believe I am a great middle blocker because I am quick on my feet and enjoy the quick decision making involved with this position. My coaches have all said that one of my strengths is that I am extremely coachable. I am always willing to give 100% and am driven, focused and hard working. I believe that I am a good teammate because I always look for opportunities to encourage my team and let my play speak for itself. My volleyball skills have improved immensely in this past year and I intend to continue to work as hard as I can to achieve my lofty goals. I am very committed to being the best I can be as a player, teammate and student. Although I am hoping to play at a DI school, I am open to playing at a competitive DII or DIII school as long as they are a fit for me academically.
I have three years of club experience and have loved every minute of my volleyball career so far. Last season, I played for Vision Volleyball Club in Los Gatos, California on their 14-Blue team which is at least an hour commute from my home one way. My team competed in Indianapolis at the Girls Junior National Championships in the Patriot division and it was an amazing experience. This year I hope to play on a team that earns a bid to play in the 15 Open division at Junior Nationals in Minneapolis. My family and I have committed to making sure that I continue to play for the very best club in order to grow and evolve as a player and to help me achieve my aspirations.
Currently, I am enrolled in two honors classes, English I Honors and Biology Honors and intend to add more Advanced Placement and Honors courses in the next three years. I enjoy the challenge of maintaining a 4.0+ while playing competitive volleyball at the highest level. I find that time management and dedication are some of my academic strengths. At this point I am interested in pursuing a degree related to medicine due to my enjoyment of and strength in Math and Biology and my love for helping people.
Outside of school and sports, I am involved in National Charity League, Monterey Bay Chapter where I have the opportunity to volunteer my time in a variety of philanthropies. I also volunteer at church camps each summer.
