I’m a starting, 6-rotation, Outside Hitter for Coast VBC's 17-1 team. Last season (Coast 16-1), we earned an Open bid to GJNC's, and although initially ranked 36/36 teams, we came in 2nd in our 6-pool and advanced. We finished ranked 23rd in the nation, Open Division. During this 2016 high school varsity season I play for Del Norte High School in San Diego, CA. We won the CIF championship for our DI League and will play in round 2 of CIF State's soon. I was named the San Diego Union-Tribune Athlete of the Week (Nov 2016). Last high school season, I was named to the All League 2nd team - Avocado East League. During the 2015 club season, I was the starting Outside Hitter for San Diego Volleyball Club’s 15-1 and also earned a spot as an alternate on HP Indoors USA Select A1 team (SCVA 18th overall) - summer 2015. I am enrolled in all honors classes and have a 4.03 GPA (unweighted 3.92) and am currently enrolled in three AP classes. As a high school freshman I was named "All Tournament MVP" and "All Tournament Best Attacker" at two elite San Diego JV tournaments for Del Norte High. My brother, Jonah Kay, is also a hitter (MB) and plays for Coach Speraw at UCLA.
Here’s a link to a newspaper article written about me that was published 10/11/2015 in the San Diego Union-Tribune (circulation 400,000+):

Similar to my brother, I am interested in playing at the Division 1 level and am very flexible with what part of the United States in which I will eventually settle for my undergraduate work. I am a very hard working student-athlete who is extremely passionate about the game. I am enrolled in three AP classes this year (11th grade). Thank you for looking. I hope to hear from you soon.
