Soledad Sibal '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Soledad Sibal and I am currently a Sophomore at Los Altos High School. I am a setter on my high school team and we are currently six time back to back league champions. I have been playing competitively since 6th grade with ICON Volleyball Club and am currently playing on our 16s Adidas Team.

Although I am a setter, I also love playing defense. I have been playing and setting for my travel teams for the past four years. I love playing because of the competitiveness and because it gives me the ability to lead. I have been captain of my club teams for the past three years. The leadership skills I have learned during volleyball have carried over into other parts of my life. I am a part of our LAHS's Associated Student Body (ASB). Last year I was one of only three Freshmen who were selected for leadership roles. Last year I began as Assistant Treasurer and this year I was promoted to Treasurer and became the only underclassmen on Executive Board. I have learned to manage my time wisely, balancing my time between academics and my extracurricular activities. Volleyball has taught me to be a hard worker in all aspects of my life. This is what sets me apart from other candidates for your school.

I aspire to play volleyball in college and hopefully one day coach. I hope to contribute to a team and be open to learning new things. I enjoy working with younger players and hope to inspire young people to follow their dreams and strive to do the best in whatever they do.  I am confident in my knowledge of the game. I understand the game and am able to identify what is happening, move earlier, and more efficiently.
