I currently attend a large 4 year public high school that exceeds 2,000 students. I am a passionate multi-sport student athlete who takes school and any sport I am playing seriously. I was named to the second team All Southern Section for basketball as a freshman and was voted Athlete of the Year for underclassmen in my sophomore year. I have lettered in Varsity Volleyball (3 years), Varsity Basketball (3 years), Varsity Track and Field (2 years), and Varsity Softball (1 year). I thoroughly enjoy each sport but have realized that I would like to pursue Track and Field at the collegiate level. I have been awarded MVP of the girls Track team at my high school for the two years I have been a member and have broken many school records on the way to achieving that honor.
I am definitely a people person as I enjoy making new friends, and I love to travel. I am sincere, honest and a dedicated team player and was hand-picked and invited to join an elite group of girls from the Los Angeles area to play basketball in Italy in the summer of 2016. I am an excellent candidate for a college track team because I am personable, yet determined. I stay calm during times of high intensity and I am coachable. I listen and I am willing to learn. I am not lazy. I expect a rigorous training schedule and am not afraid to work hard.
As a junior, I was a starter on my league-winning Varsity volleyball team and received Most Improved status my freshman and sophomore years. I played Varsity softball as a freshman and earned First Team honors. I have received MVP for Varsity Basketball all three years I have played. As a sophomore in 2015 I ran Varsity Track for the first time and broke 2 school records with my 4x100 team. In 2016 I won High Jump for the league, broke the school record for the Long Jump, broke the school record and the league record and won the league with my 4x100 relay team, and broke the school record with my 4x400 relay team. With no formal training, I tried discus and immediately qualified for league finals. In the league finals, I received a 4th place result after only taking up throwing 3 weeks prior. I train consistently to improve myself for whatever season it is. I am versatile and have much reserve that has not yet been tapped.
I am currently undecided regarding my career goals because I would like to see where my college experiences lead me. I love sporting events and people and am considering something related to being involved in leadership aspects of sporting events because I am happiest when I am involved in planning, setting up, playing, announcing, or volunteering for them. Sports is what I am about. I appreciate you reviewing my profile and I hope you will consider me for your program! You will be glad you did! Thank you!
