In my college studies, I would like to concentrate primarily on International and Global Affairs and History. These are key areas of my interest. More specifically, I would like to concentrate on sustainable development and credible social and economic policies related to it. In addition, I am also interested in public health, education, youth and women's empowerment. Having lived in Kenya for about 3.5 years (2012-2015) with my family, I had a chance to experience first-hand how important it is for all of us to care about peace and development in global terms. When we lived in Kenya, I visited many community-based projects aimed at providing better access to health care and education, especially for the disadvantaged and most vulnerable, including women and girls. (Many of them were supported by Slovak Aid.) Already at that time I started volunteering within various school humanitarian clubs and projects. I continue doing so from New York, too. I have also been part of several school model United Nations conferences - in Kenya, Slovakia and the United States.
Alongside my studies I am keen on staying involved in athletics, especially swimming. I have been part of a school swimming team since 2012. In addition, I have also done track and field and netball.
I believe that alongside academics, it is important to be ivolved in athletics as well because it strengthens you both physically and mentally, reduces stress and promotes teamwork, which is also very important in the workplace. Doing athletics also helps you to become a good leader and to be confident because if you do not believe in yourself, you will never be able to achieve your goals.
Last but not least, I would also like to help promote healthy lifestyles and athletics among children and youth in order to help motivate them. In other words, to lead by example a bit.
