Maslin Wirum '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello!  I have been raised in Anchorage Alaska...  It's not as exotic as it sounds, but does offer the opportunity for travel to warm climates!  When I was around six years old I fell in love with swimming..  Both at the pool and open water...  During vacations my family still has a hard time pulling me out of the water..  I found a great club team when I around 14 years old.  It is here that I learned that swimming is not just an individual sport , but a team sport.  We  support each other and push each other to the next level.  My coach added discipline into the mixture.  I am very focused and disciplined in both my swimming and academics.  I am well rounded with friends , volunteer services and clubs, but I prioritize swimming and my education.  My goal is to swim for a college that has great team spirit and the opportunity to study life sciences.  What sets me apart from others is my dedication to succeed and not stopping until I have given it one hundred percent.  This is how I live my life, in school or the pool.
