I have been playing soccer since I was three years old and ever since, I felt the ball at my feet, I knew that it was what I wanted to do later in life. The difference between me and other soccer players is that I don't quit. Working hard is my only option. I am a coachable, versatile player on the field, whether I am playing in an offensive, central, or defensive position. My strongest position is an attacking central midfielder where I use my skills to create plays as well as deliver fast passes onto my teammates. While playmaking is my first love, I am not afraid to create my own chances to score or challenge an opponent one on one. I use my knowledge of the game in order to help my teammates on and off the field and am always communicating to ensure a solid win for my team.
From the beginning, my parents have been guiding me through life with their love, advice and encouragement and I am very grateful for their support of my endeavors. They create an environment that always challenges me to work harder and excel in whatever I do. My mother works at home, looking after myself and two siblings and our dog. Her spirit and resilience are inspirational. My father is a police officer as well as a construction worker. He has taught me to follow the rules and to be honest. The example my parents have set on me has helped me be strong, independent, patient and accepting of others, and is the reason why I love to help people. My academics are strong with all honors in my freshman year. I am involved with high school soccer on the Junior Varsity team, rotary club, and am planning to play basketball, track, and join the sign language club. Besides sports and academics, I volunteer at my church as a kindergarten Sunday school teacher.
College is only a few short years away, and I am excited to spread my wings and reach my ambitions academically. In college, I would like to focus on Interior Design or a profession in mathematics because they are two subjects that really intrigue me. I am in honors classes now and eventually, will take AP classes. I am also musically gifted, and am able to play the viola, piano, and the guitar, two of which are self taught. Furthermore, I love to sing. I have been a part of the school choir from fourth through eight grade and really enjoy performing in front of crowds whether on a stage or a packed stadium. I even enjoy public speaking. Overcoming obstacles in life has shaped me into who I am now, a willing, dedicated student and player who is ready for the future. Consider me for your university.
