Personal Statement

I have 13 years of soccer experience and at the age of 7, joined our local travel club where I have been playing competitive soccer for Chicago Fire Juniors West (CFJ).  Our team has consistently played in the upper league divisions, earning an opportunity to play Midwest Regional League (MRL).  Since U12, I have started at Center Back, playing nearly every minute of all games, including High School varsity.
Coaches have consistently rated me one of the top three players and invited me to play for CJF’s Generate Red team (top 7% of players from our regional CFJ teams) and CFJ’s Elite ID team (top 5% players for all national CFJ teams).   My coaches start me due to my contributions including:
• Confident and Comfortable – I have the ability to read the field/game, anticipate where I and my teammates need to be and often make positive decisions.
• Competitive - in 1 v 1 situations, I win the ball, as well as, a majority of 50/50 balls.
• Solid Work Ethic - I lead by example at practices and games and never give up, regardless of score.
• Healthy – I maintain a healthy diet, enjoy regular exercise and have only missed 4 games in my career due to minor injury.
• Athleticism – at 5’10” and 150 pounds, I attack and bring size, speed and stamina.
• Possession on/off the ball – I am able to keep the ball when in possession, and when out of possession I know the correct place to be.

Overall, my coach considers me the “absolute rock in the heart” of our defensive season, an “imposing figure on the field who works extremely hard for the team, always tracks runners that are not hers, strong in possession and doesn’t allow apposing forwards to settle in the ball”.
