Personal Statement

My name is Annika Attiah. My goal is to take my soccer dream as far as it can go and play college soccer at the highest level possible. Ever since I started playing Club soccer at age 7, I've known that I wanted to continue growing and developing to be the best player I could be. At age 12, I knew I needed to push myself further. I made a move to Eclipse Select Soccer Club, the top program in Illinois, and among the top in the Midwest. Ever since I was with Eclipse, I proved to myself that I belonged among the top players and I continuously earned a spot as a defender on the elite team.

I'm a valuable candidate because I value both my academics and my soccer commitment. I'm different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics because I take leadership on my team and I consider them my second family on and off the field. I excel on the field with my speed at outside defense, and I excel in my game strategy at center defense. I consistently earn straight A's because I prioritize my studies and I make sure that my academics come before everything else.

We help teenagers understand that what they did was wrong and how they can learn from it. We don't punish them, we help them grow from their actions and by doing so, it gives them a clean slate, so that they don't have a committed crime on their record. I take part in many positions in the teen court like the jury, prosecutor, defendant, etc. -I am Vice President for Student Council as a Sophomore.
