Personal Statement

I would say that I'm different from the rest, because of my ability to be placed almost anywhere on the field. I have played every position from forward to midfield, wing to defense, and even some goal over the years. I consider myself to be a very diverse player and pretty intense in a competitive aspect, but channel that energy into my play. If someone is going to take the ball up and score from a defensive position, then I am that girl.

When taking a leading position on the field and off, my name would most likely pop up. The loudest voice, the most aggressive, very encouraging, attentive, and an analytical player would sum up what it’s like to be on a field with me. It doesn't matter if I am the youngest or the oldest player, I understand that a team is a team and leaders are leaders. Those leaders hold the team together and push everyone to be their absolute best. When a player is wanting to give up, I want to be that teammate that makes them keep trying and push through. If one person falls then the whole team falls with them, but if everyone is putting in that same amount of effort and encouraging each other, then that team will be successful in my eyes.

On an academic level, my effort rockets sky high. If I get a low grade in a class, I strive to get a higher grade the next quarter or semester. I push myself because I know that I can be exceptional. I know that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. The talent I am fortunate to have, academically and athletically, is something I use to my advantage, but I work hard to build that talent and effort even more so that I can become a better player and person overall.
