I’ve been playing lacrosse since 7th grade and I fell in love with the sport. When I’m on the field it’s just the game there’s no other problems, no stress, just the game. I can’t imagine my life without lacrosse, I’ve made so many friends and made so many memories throughout my time playing and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I always try and play as much as I can taking advantage of camps, tournaments, and any opportunity to better myself. Although I’m an multi sport athlete, I’m a student first. I work hard to keep my grades up even in the off season and work twice as hard to keep them up during the season. As a teammate I do my best to encourage and support the people around me. Lacrosse is a team sport and when someone is hard on themselves for having a bad game I remind them of that, my team is like my second family and family sticks together through the good and bad, whether it’s a bad loss or a huge win we’re a team either way and we’re in it together. As a player I always look for ways to get the ball into the back of the net, making cuts, moving the ball and finding and feeding it to the open girl is something I try to do every game, playing tough defense, executing clean checks, and picking up ground balls are all things I try to do to stop the ball from ending up in our net. Although I primarily play midfield, i’m comfortable playing any position on the field, midfield is my favorite position due to the amount of endurance it takes, I love being constantly involved, enabling plays and causing turnovers to occur.
Playing lacrosse in college has been a goal for me for awhile, it’s something that I always keep in mind and use as a reason to push myself. I’m looking for a college program that is competitive and takes the game seriously. I want to be challenged academically and I want to be challenged athletically. Participating in a college sport would take playing to a completely different level, and I’d be able to continue doing the thing I love the most.
