Julianna Koman '21 Recruiting Profile

Over the years, I've tried many different sports, such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, and gymnastics, but hockey has always been my favorite. I started playing with my twin sister when I was four years old, and I've loved it ever since. My parents, as busy as they are, always found time to workout with us, drive us to practice, take us to extracurricular activities, or whatever it may be.

This season, my sister, my mom and I relocated to South Lyon, Michigan to play for HoneyBaked AAA Hockey Club. It has always been my dream to play AAA hockey, and this year I finally achieved that goal. One of the main reasons for us moving to Michigan was that there are so many great opportunities present for those who want to play hockey at a collegiate level. I would love to play Division I hockey in the future. I believe that if I work hard enough, I can definitely make it happen. 

In college, I want to study medicine and become a neurological surgeon.  I take academics very seriously, and I am always willing to challenge myself and solve the problem at hand. I'm also a very motivated and competitive person, which I think can be used on the ice and in school.
