I always strive to be the best, whether or not I'm having a good day. I get along with all of my teammates, and I have long-time friendships with most of them. I try to bring as much positivity to the team as possible and when I see a teammate or someone around me struggling, I try my absolute best to help them succeed. I try to make the locker room and the ice a safe and joyful place to be because without the feeling of safety and joy, hockey isn't enjoyable by everyone. My grades are high with mostly A's and a few high B's. I'm in Gifted Seminar, and all advanced classes. This Year I'm starting high school, in grade 9, and for my electives I chose to study German II and AP computer science principles. I'm also planning on joining the key club, which is a club that depends on volunteer hours, and the creative writing club. My hobbies include singing, riding my bike, and playing computer games. I've been singing ever since I could talk, and over the years I've found that my best friend and I sing really well together. I like riding my bike with my mom as a way to spend time together as a family, and ever since my mom introduced me to computer games, it's a fun way we can spend time together. Since I was young, I have always had the dream of going to a good college and do what I love. Over the years I have found that my passions are Ice Hockey and Creative Writing, so through out my years of coming to this conclusion I've excelled in my English classes and I've personally excelled in Hockey. Last year, I ended the year with a 95% overall English grade. This past year I have also grown as a hockey player more than I ever had in my entire 4 years of playing. My shot has improved, but my skating has improved most of all. My speed has significantly increased, and I've learned to use my body when faced with a 1 on 1 battle for the puck. I've been playing U16 AA since I was 12 and on the team, I was positioned as the starting right defenseman. I'm also the main shot of the power play, and right defensemen of the penalty kill. I've also been positioned as Center on multiple occasions. Last year, my team participated in two skill competitions. I was part of shooting accuracy in the first competition, where we won 2nd place, and in the hardest shot portion of the second competition, where I won 1st place with a 47 mph slapshot. I've clocked in the 50's in practice. Along with my girl's travel team, I was recruited for a boys bantam A ice dog team, and I'm assistant captain of my high school's varsity girl's team. The past two years I've tried out for the Atlantic District Camp, and I've made it both times. Overall, I'm an exceedingly good student athlete and I think that I would make a great addition to your team!
