Grace Garrett '21 Recruiting Profile

Since I started playing hockey when I was four years old, I’ve always been setting goals for myself. When I was younger, these goals started out as “learn how to lift the puck by Christmas time.” As I got older and more experienced, these goals became more and more difficult to reach, but also more and more exciting to achieve, having worked so hard for them. By working hard to get better every day,  I hope to reach my goal of earning an opportunity to play challenging, competitive, college hockey. I am also looking for a school that can offer me a challenging academic experience where I can study and practice creative writing, which is very important to me.

Aside from enjoying the competition, intensity, and strategy of hockey, teamwork has always been a factor that I love about the game. I like to celebrate the talents of my teammates, so that together, the team is greater than the sum of its parts. We can achieve more together than any individual can achieve on her own.

I look forward to the future of what playing college hockey can bring to me, and what I can bring in return with full determination and eagerness to learn and play the game at the most fun and competitive level I can.
