Personal Statement

Hi my name is Zoe Manriquez and I absolutely love hockey. I've been playing since I was 9 years old, and I started in a not quite so normal way. I was introduced to hockey when my friend invited me to come ice skating and not mentioning it was a girl's hockey clinic. When I got to the rink, my friends mom exclaimed how happy she was to see me and helped me get fitted in gear. From the moment I stepped on the ice I loved the sport. I felt at home. Ever since that moment, my love for the sport grew more and more each day.

I started as a goalie because one day our regular goalie for my first summer team didn't want to play goalie for a game, and 10 year old me thought that playing goalie would be a great idea, so I happily volunteered. I played a few years of house hockey and then began to play travel hockey.

For 3 seasons I played on 2 teams, 1 as goalie and 1 as defense. On my first year of travel hockey, I went strictly to goalie.

I've played 3 seasons of travel, 2 with AHU Knights and 1 with the DYHA Junior Sundevils. Now I play for D3 and D1 Basha/Perry in the highschool league, AHSHA.

I started playing travel my 2nd year of peewee and on my first year DYHAantam, I was also back up for a midget team. On my 2nd year of bantam, I moved from AHU to DYHA. My Sundevils team won the 2016-17 State Playdowns.

When I'm not on the ice though, I love to read, write, go on walks, and weld. In school I am part of FFA for AG Mechanics.

I hope this helped you get to know me a little better. Thank you for your time.

I play for Basha/Perry D3 and D1

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
