October 2017 Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember golf has been a way of life. I was six years old when I started playing in the junior summer camps at my local course, Beau Pre Golf Club. Every minute I spend there I am always focusing on being the best player I can be. I believe that golf takes dedication and focus, whether it be putting or chipping one day, or mental game and hitting greens in regulation the next. There are many aspects and factors that take so much time and energy, only someone with extreme dedication can excel in this amazing game. I believe that someone is me. You can always find me at the course working as hard as I can. I have been told by fellow golfers, including my coaches and people I have never met, what a great swing, and how much potential I have.
My freshman year I led an undefeated 6 time HDN conference championship team. I was also voted MVP by my team and coaches. This year I'm striving to be the best teammate and player I can be for my team and myself. I am hoping to lead our team to yet another HDN championship as well as a D2 championship at NCS.
I currently have a 3.99 GPA as of my final report card for the 2016-17 school year and will continue to maintain, if not exceed that, for 2017-18. I am passionate and interested in all the classes I am taking, which include several honors classes, and can’t wait to see what they offer me this year! I take my role as a student athlete seriously and am capable of managing sports and a heavy academic schedule. I love participating with my school and continue to become more active each year. Last year I was historian of the Native American Club and this year I am the secretary. My passion for this club is important to me as a Native American student and Tribal member of the Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria. Through this club I have gotten to show my leadership skills and motivation to accomplish anything I set my mind to.
In conclusion I am a teammate that you can count on. I feel I have an amazing work ethic and the passion and drive to be a better player. I am excited to devote my skills, time, and effort as part of your college team!
