My first ever competitive golf tournament was the Alaska State Junior Golf Championship in 2013 where I placed 3rd. I went on to win the 2014 and 2015 Championship which drove me to compete at the next level. After winning the 2015 Championship, I entered both of our local open tournaments with adult competitors. Playing against adults for the first time, I placed in the top five gross and net. This year I will compete in both the State Junior Championship and the State Amateur Championship for the first time. I look forward to competing against Alaska’s best female golfers as a 14 year old.
Living in Alaska put me at a training disadvantage due to our short 4-5 month golf season. To overcome this challenge, I brought my training indoors with a mat and simple driving net. Because of my dedication to training, I now have a golf simulator to train on during the long dark winter months. This has allowed me to continue year round training and prepares me to chip away at my 8.8 handicap when the courses open in late April. My training is second only to my academics.
Because of my commitment and dedication, I was honored by the Alaska Junior Golf Association and awarded the 2015 Female Player of the Year and Most Dedicated awards. As a three sport athlete and committed 4.0 student, I will bring sportsmanship, integrity and work ethic to your program. I have what it takes to be a dedicated teammate, leader and student for your school and your team.
