~ I've loved playing basketball since I was 5 years old. I started on a recreational team, then began to play for my junior high and high school. I added an AAU team to further develop my skills and feed my desire to improve. I'm a very determined and hard working person. I've been told several times that I am very "coachable". I think that is because whatever goal I set for myself or is set for me I reach for it and continue to grow and strive for new ones.
From a very early age it was instilled in me to be a leader on and off the court. I was taught that being a good student athlete means keeping my priorities in order and staying committed to my academic and athletic responsibilities. My leadership traits have grown leaps and bounds because I became much more active in my school and community. I also spent more personal time in the gym honing my skills due to the fact that my school season was not long enough to achieve significant results. When I'm not playing basketball I'm usually playing fast pitch and occasionally dancing or playing volleyball to stay active. Basketball however, has always been my strongest sport because it is my first love. It's just as important to me to succeed in the classroom and community as it is to succeed on the court.
Basketball has given me the drive to do better academically and has provided me with more confidence. I have been able to do more than I ever imagined. Earning the chance to play in college would be a dream come true and would truly mean that all my hard work on and off the court has paid off. I'm excited to experience what is in store for my future in college basketball. I believe that my athletic abilities, work ethic, and leadership qualities would be an asset to any team that is hard working and loves the game as much as I do.
