Cierra Torp '12 Recruiting Profile

     My name is Cierra Torp, I am a senior at Kiona Benton High School. I play guard, I weigh 125 and I am 5'7  Last year I was on the All-Sate basketball team as a junior, and I am on it again. I was recently placed on the All-Area first team as well. I am a very strong defensive player, I typically guard the opponents number one offensive player.  I also average over 14 points per game.  I am proud to say that last year I finished the season as the second leading scorer in the league.  I am a consistant player, for I am again in the number two spot in the league.  I have been playing ball since I was in kindergarden.  My 8th grade year and last year I was voted as MVP on my team, and my sophomore season I was voted as most improved.  Most recently I was also named athlete of the week in the newspaper, out of all the kids in the entire area!  I was team captain of my soccer team this pass season and team captain of the basketball team my junior and senior year. I feel I have been elected into these roles because of my work ethic and excellent leadership skills on and off the court.  I stay after practice every night to have additional time to shoot around and work on my ball handling skills.  I never miss practice. It has always been my dream to play basketball in college, and that is why I have pushed myself so hard these past several years, so I can achieve my goals.  I am open to any school, I do not have any specific preferences.  I have not yet decided on what I want to major in, but I am thinking about sports journalism.  My love of all sports and my love of writing is why I am interested in persuing this. My personal goals are to play on a college basketball team as a freshman, and be a contibutor to the team. I also hope to play at the highest competition level possible, I want to be the best I can be, and I want to be pushed to the limit.  I do not want to settle for anything less. I will do whatever it takes to achieve my life long goals.
