Laken Chapin '23 Recruiting Profile

      Since a young age, basketball has been a positive and uplifting part of my life, and it has shaped me into the person I am today.  As a result of  joining varsity as a freshman, a very substantial path for my future as a student-athlete has formed.  During just my first year on varsity, I've grown mentally in my day-to-day mindset and in physical aspects of sports through a season with our team that pushes players to do their best.  Throughout my next three years of high-school basketball, I plan to work to grow and mold into the collegiate athlete that I aspire to be.

      I am grateful to have many opportunities that I can take part in that allow me to reach my goal of becoming a collegiate basketball player. I work towards my goal throughout the entire year by putting time into the weight room every morning before school starts and practicing on the court consistently.  Also, I help out future generations at our school by volunteering to help coach elementary students and share with them the love and dedication I have for basketball.    Giving 100% of my effort on the court is just as important as giving 100% in the classroom, and I have interest in colleges that allow me to excel in both academics and athletics. I know my strong desire for improvement and persevering mindset will be beneficial in playing college basketball.
