I was lucky enough to be the captain of a team that went down state back- to- back years in Junior High. This experience has helped me grow as an individual as well as an athlete over my seven years of playing basketball. It has helped me learn leadership, communication, and a whole lot of teamwork. I learned a lot Freshman year on an undefeated team when I was moved up to the Sophomore team. This has showed me I can compete with higher level players. In fact, my success on the Sophomore team has earned me a spot on the varsity team this year as a Sophomore.
The challenges of being a three-sport high school athlete has helped me gain valuable time-management skills, which has enabled me to become an exceptional student as well. I feel my growth over the years has helped form me into a well-rounded teammate that would be an asset to any college program.
Oh, by the way, if you need that last second free throw at the end of the game when the score is tied... I'm your girl! I was 2nd in the state of Illinois in the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest.
