I appreciate you taking time to read my statement.
First and foremost, I consider myself a student- athlete, emphasizing student first. I am a 4.0 student that takes school seriously and believes in seizing opportunities for personal growth. I will be taking AP classes starting my Jr. year, and plan to graduate with a GPA above 4.0.
In regards to being well-rounded, I believe I am unique for a variety of reasons. First, because I participate in the sport of rodeo and am active in FFA (a youth Agriculture Leadership Association). In addition I am a leader on campus and on my team; I won the Hustle and Heart Award as a freshman on my Varsity Basketball Team and I participate in many campus activities- ranging from running the snack bar, student leadership, and community service events.
All of the above contribute to what I have to offer as a player. I always put in 110%. I value teamwork and work ethic most of all. I strive to lead by doing. I am typically one of the leaders in every game in rebounds, steals and blocks (despite my size). I strive to be the first to sprint to the other end of the court. My experience raising and taking care of animals has taught me a lot about responsibility, accountability and commitment. I am thankful for the many leadership opportunities I have had in school and in my community. I truly believe they have helped to shape me into the kind of basketball player coaches love to coach.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
