A big part of my life that has influenced who I am today is my religious affiliation with Christianity. I have made amazing relationships growing up in the church and have learned many life skills. A couple of these life skills include that I refuse to cuss and that I am always looking for a way to help others. I became interested in softball at the age of 4 when my mother suggested it to me because she had played. Ever since then, I have continued in the sport, have made long-lasting relationships, and have learned many good qualities that I believe set me apart from other collegiate candidates. Through my experience playing softball, I have learned how to be a leader on and off the field. As a catcher, I need to take charge on the field by earning the respect of my teammates and developing trustworthy relationships with them. Off the field, I know I need to set an example for others in conduct, speech, and relationships I have. I have also learned that I should not strive to be the best on the team. Instead, I strive to do my best and focus on playing as a team at our best. Softball is a team sport for a reason, you cannot win if you don't work together to accomplish your goals.
Some unique aspects that I believe set me apart from other players are that I am coachable, I always have a positive attitude, I am always smiling and having fun, and I work well on a team. Academically, my goals for college are to major in physical therapy in sports medicine or possibly elementary education and teaching. I started becoming interested in physical therapy as my teammates became injured and went through physical therapy themselves. I found the recovery process interesting and began falling in love with the occupation. I am excited to see where God takes me on this journey through finding colleges!
