2017 Early Season...Personal Statement
Strap on 30 pounds of gear. Throw your body around to keep every ball within arm’s reach. Collect bruises and laces like some collect tattoos. React correctly to thousands of different situations with lightning quickness. Play the role of psychologist to your partner on the mound. Leader. That’s a catcher. While a dominant pitcher may be the most important roster spot, no position can make or break a team like the position of catcher. Third base is fun. If you need a first baseman, sure, no problem. But, there’s no place on the field I’d rather be, than behind the plate. That is my home and my happy place. I can hit a little bit, too. I hope you have an opportunity to come see me play at some point.
I just finished my freshman year in high school, earning distinguished honors. I have not taken SAT or ACT tests yet. I was the only freshman to make the varsity softball team. I am most interested in finding a college with a good engineering program where I will also have an opportunity to play softball.
