Personal Statement

Dear Prospective Coaches,

I have always had set goals and aspirations, but the things that I really want, I will not let out of my sight. People tell me I'm too hard on myself, that I'm too serious when it comes to sports, but it just shows how determined I am. Ever since I started to play travel softball, I have wanted to continue on and play at a collegiate level. I understand that it has a lot of commitment and sacrifice, but I am willing to go through with it and try my hardest to make my dreams come true.

The past seven years of my life have been very busy between softball, school, and extracurricular activities such as volleyball, and volunteering, but it was all doable because I had my family and friend’s support and my love for this sport.

What makes me a great candidate for your team is that fact that I can balance all of my duties like: softball, volleyball, and volunteering, and still be in honors classes with high A's. I wish to major in pre-pharmacy. This is because of my ever-increasing love for numbers and helping others.  I am determined to be a part of the Best Buds program at CGHS. This program is a relationship-building, life-changing, opportunity to witness how God has created us all differently and to help intellectually and developmentally disabled peers maneuver and adapt to high school and the ever-changing atmosphere around them. While my goal will be to help them, I know they will change me for the better. I have been blessed, and I want to be a blessing and give back to my school and my community.

Softball has taught me several life lessons, such as “adjusting to the curves”, the force of teamwork, and learning it’s okay to strike out at times, but always getting right back into the game. Softball is a platform for so many opportunities in life. I hope I can continue to use this platform throughout my college years.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
