I have been playing baseball since I was 4 years old. Very early on, I realized that I had the desire and skill to be able to play a variety of different sports. I found my passion when I started to play little league. I did not play softball, I played hardball. I was the only girl in the league. I made the District All-star team when I was 9, 10, 11 and was voted on to the District 12 year old All-star team by my peers. When I aged out, I was devastated as I wanted to continue playing ball. I worked really hard to prove myself and establish myself with the teams I played for as well as with Shelton National. I gave it some thought, realized I was getting older and needed to make a choice. I love ball so much that I wanted to continue to play. I realized if I continued to play hard ball, it would probably get me nowhere. I am so glad that I made the decision to try out for a fall ball softball team.
I had my tryout, made the team and realized how much I LOVE softball. From that moment on, I knew I was never going to stop playing softball. I knew that I wanted to play at the college level. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life.
I am a team leader and I try to lead by example while also encouraging, teaching and helping my teammates. I am very coachable, always looking to improve, have a positive attitude and strive to be one of the hardest working players on and off the field. I am a very determined person. I have learned that despite your size or natural ability, with passion, effort, determination and hard work, improvement and success are attainable.
My family and coaches have played an important role in my athletic and academic development, and I would not be the person I am today without them.
My goal is to play softball at a college that aligns my passion and commitment with academics and sports.
