My name is Janelle Johnson. I go to St. Luke's School in New Canaan, CT. I'm a freshman but I've earned a spot on the girl's high school varsity team since 7th grade through my hard work and determination. My high school team is very strong. We nearly had an undefeated season last season and we have made our conference championship the past 2 years and even won last year. My AAU team is also strong, we're reigning Division 1 state champions and we have exemplary seasons playing in CT, NY, NJ, MA, PA, MD and Washington, DC. I usually play shooting guard, point guard and sometimes even small forward on both of my teams but I practice defending bigger players. I pride myself in being able to play and defend every position. I also want to compete and be great at the next level. I would like to attend an exceptional college or university that fits my personality, can support me as a student, and has an elite basketball program. My school, St. Luke's, is one of the best schools in my area. It offers interesting electives, the classes are small and the teachers are smart, and it's a great environment to learn. I'm a solid student. I have a 4.0 GPA, so academics are important to me also. I have certain schools that I think about now, but everyone tells me that I'm going to change my mind 100 times before I have to make a decision. After college, I would either like to continue my basketball career professionally, or become involved in the sports medicine profession.
Thank you for reading about me,
Janelle Johnson
