My name is Gabe Avillion, and I am a senior from Pennsylvania who hopes to one day play men's collegiate volleyball. I bring a number of desirable characteristics to any team that I play for. Coaches in the past have referred to me as a passionate, hard-working, and coachable athlete. I take pride in being hard working, as I know that being a competitive athlete and strong student requires a great deal of diligence and dedication. Whether it is on the court or in the classroom, I commit myself 100% to everything that I do while encouraging the same behavior from my teammates.
I am currently 6’6, 210 pounds and still growing. As a middle blocker I recognize that I am not yet up to the height standards of many division one players, and it is for this reason that I train to be an incredibly diverse and well-rounded player. What I lack in height I make up for in strength, speed, and skill. I am comfortable playing any position on the court and would be happy to step in wherever I am needed on a team. On my club and high-performance teams I compete as a middle, though on my high school team I have played as a middle all the way around the court. This allows me to help our team by passing and taking swings from every position (including back row).
