Alejandro Wiltshire '20 Recruiting Profile

It is well known that children start to run soon after they begin to take their first steps; my mother tells me that I walked my first step earlier than most toddlers, as I began walking at seven months. I believe this is no coincidence as I feel I was made for track.

Since a very young age, and my passion for track has only lifted off, literally and figuratively. I began to pursue track competitively nearly two years ago at thirteen years old. Indeed, in the matter of just four seasons, two winter track seasons and two spring track seasons, I ran to the finish line to win thirty-two medals (17 gold, 9 silver, and 6 bronze) in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and 4x100 meter medley. I also proudly represented St. Anne’s School in many Catholic Young Organization track competitions from 2014-2016 where I broke my personal record time after time, and I currently maintain the title in the 100 meter dash. As a team, St. Anne’s School also proudly hold the title in the 4x100 meter medley.

The discipline that I have had to maintain to excel on the track field has also transferred to the classroom, as I have also made it my mission to succeed in school. I have always kept my grades above 90%, and I am currently enrolled in a series of AP courses to help prepare me for the next steps I will take on my journey – college. The thought of college excites me as I cannot wait to be presented with the opportunity to be challenged athletically and academically, and earn a degree in genetics so I can make a difference.
