Damien Hiser '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Damien Hiser. I run both Track and Cross Country for Bishop Carroll Catholic High School. I am a captain for both teams. I strive to achieve excellence in all I do, both athletically and academically. I am willing to work hard and push my body to its limits in order to better my team and myself. I have suffered through two collapsed lungs and I am also anemic. However, I do not allow these things to hold me back, as I am a varsity runner in both Cross Country and Track. My dream is to be able to run Track and Cross Country in college, as well as receive an education and attain my masters degree. I improve my times with every race and every meet that I run in. However, I run for God and my team first, and myself second. I am very interested in studying both sports medicine and sports training.  I would preferably like to go to a Division 1 or 2 school here in Kansas so that I may be close to home, but any college consideration is a blessing to me and one step closer to making my dream come true. My goals for this year are as follows: 5K: 15:40; 800M: 1:55; 1600M: 4:25; 400M: 51; 3200M: 9:50. I believe that these goals are reachable and I know that I can achieve them.
