I would be a great candidate on your team in the near future. As an 9th grader, I have found that can compete very well in long distance races. I have also began trying some running events outside of school to run competitively. My first run was on a triathlon team running a 3.2 mile course in Boise, Idaho and recently I did a solo run of 5.2 miles for the the local Falls to Falls run which I received a fourth place medal . I enjoy running everyday and I always push myself to my limit because I always know that there is room for improvement. I take running seriously to keep myself healthy, competitive, and motivated for my future. One college goal I have is to become the first doctor in my family. Another goal, I have is to run competitively in college. My GPA drives me to do better academically and athletically so that I can reach my goals. I am a team captain for my track team this season and have enjoyed being a good leader for other runners. I look forward to being successful on the track and in my life.

This week I ran the Redfish Lake 5 K run. The race was held in the scenic Saw-tooth National Forest at 7200 ft. The trails were narrow and sandy with steep inclines. I received a first place finish out of 231 competitors. My time was 19.35, but considering the altitude and the running conditions I was very happy with my performance.
