Personal Statement

I began playing tennis at age 10. I signed up for a free summer at Tennis For Kids and fell in love with the sport. I continued on with a USTA junior clinic and have taken lessons ever since. I played #2 singles and #1 doubles my freshman year of high school. I went 6-2 in division play.  I realize I probably will not make it to top-level Division I schools, but playing Division 2 or Division 3 would be a dream. I am currently ranked #3 out of 235 in my class for my GPA after the freshman year. I am from a medium-sized town in York, Pa. I started playing competitively and in USTA tournaments during my 8th grade year. It would be an amazing accomplishment to play college tennis, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to achieve this goal.
