For as long as I can remember, my goal has been to play soccer for as much of my life as possible. With this goal, I also realize that soccer is only a portion of my life and that my academic career has to be just as important as my passion for the game. I am working toward attending a college or university that will challenge me on and off of the soccer field. I want to play the highest level of this sport that I am capable of and be coached by someone who will help me continue to develop as a player. Academically, I would like to pursue a career in business with the hopes that it will lead me into a position as a general manager for a sports franchise once my soccer career is over.
I started playing soccer at the age of three. Although I have enjoyed playing baseball, football, and ultimate frisbee, soccer is my passion. There are many reasons this game has been so important in my life. I enjoy the team aspect on and off of the field. I also respect the physical and mental challenges that I am faced with during every game and practice. I have had the opportunity to travel with my soccer teams and this has made me learn to focus in some highly intense situations. Most memorable have been the three region 4 championships I have been fortunate enough to attend.
I am a good candidate for a collegiate soccer team because of the experience I bring with me. Playing soccer at a high level in a region that is very competitive has forced me to push myself. Consequently, on the soccer field I am strong, fast, aggressive, and very vocal. I have been awarded the Golden Boot of the RCL Division 1 in 2014, as well as Washington State champion in 2012 and 2013 and runner up in 2015; i also played for the team that was the Far-west Regional Champions in 2015, in which I was the highest scorer.
I have been labeled as someone who "just scores goals" by many of my coaches over the years and I can fully agree with that statement. As well as scoring goals, I am a very unselfish, team oriented player; i enjoy getting assists almost as much as I enjoy scoring.
Aside from my soccer skills, I am a good leader. I was the captain of my club soccer team in the 2014-15 season. I have also been the captain of my high school team since my sophomore year. I feel that my teammates look to me for guidance and respect my ethics and quality of play.
Academically, I have been attending one of the top schools in Washington state since Kindergarten. I consider Charles Wright Academy my second home. Every year I work hard, I participate in class and I seek out teachers when I need help. This has allowed me to create a good relationship with most of them. I also feel that I am respected by all of my teachers and peers.
I have been dedicated to my studies since day-one, but I also realize that I continue to grow intellectually every year. Because of this, I know how much more I need to learn and how hard I need to work to reach my goals.
Therefore, with the combination of attending a top level college preparatory school and playing soccer at the highest possible level, I feel as if I have been prepared for the next level of athletics and education. I now look forward to the future challenges and rewards that my college career has to offer and the knowledge and leadership I will gain in order to have a positive influence on society.
