Aiden Kollar '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Aiden Kollar and I will graduate from Owen J. Roberts High School in 2021. At a young age I was encouraged to try as many sports as I could as exposure to all sports was important to me and my family. I settled in on soccer. The game has taught me self-discipline, how to work as a team member, and how to be a leader. Soccer has also allowed me to make great friends and has given me the opportunity to learn from great coaches.

I put a lot of time into soccer training, my school team, and my travel team. I know that academics and my performance in school are most important. As I enter high school I want to continue to maintain honor roll grades. My parents remind me that school important, especially my Dad, who is a high school administrator. I’ve been very lucky to have supportive parents and wonderful teachers who have helped me achieve my academic goals so far.

When I was 10 I was diagnosed with celiac disease and the doctors believe it may have temporarily set my growth back. I’ve worked hard to change my diet as directed by my doctors and no longer have stomach pains, but I deal with the issue of my size often. Many times I enter the field and hear opposing teams making comments about my size. I’ve learned to ignore their comments and use their words to motivate me to play harder. Most importantly, I’ve also learned that you don’t have to be the biggest athlete from a physical standpoint to have success.
