In 2012 I truly started my soccer career. I made the conscious decision to go beyond my recreational league and take on club play. Since that day, my motivation to improve has never changed. Through all of the sacrifices, not once did I ever consider quitting. My devotion to what I do has made me the ambitious young adult I am today. It is what brought me to where I am and what will take me into a successful future. Maintaining academic excellence status throughout high school and holding my devotion to getting better will help me achieve my goal of playing at the college level. I want to find a school I am not only comfortable and excited to be at, but will be part of a team that will challenge me both on the field and in the classroom.
These important years of development have been anything but easy as I am not a very large player and I was fully aware of this while pushing myself through development. I always heard that I would eventually hit that growth spurt and I will just have to be patient. Playing against people who were a foot taller than me was very difficult and I didn’t want my hard work to be out shined by people with the gift of height. I stopped waiting and I exposed myself to many different coaches, competitions, and styles of play. I found mastering skill moves and tactics for beating defenders is not only easier, but more fun and I'm often told that I have a great work rate and very disruptive to opponents offensive plays. The opportunities I have created with my hard work allowed me to not only travel to Europe, but grow as a team player and person. I am still developing and there is a lot of time before I step foot in my dorm, but I am certain I will never stop working.
