Isaac Flores '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Isaac Flores, and I was born in San Diego, California to my Mom from Maine and my Dad from Peru.  I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, and I made the choice to leave home at 13 to pursue my soccer dream by joining St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, New Jersey.  This decision did not come without sacrifice as I had to leave my friends and family and other teams I played with including Delaware Rush Select, Next Gen USA, and the Philadelphia Union Juniors Select.  However, it took my soccer to the next level and made me more independent.  In the morning, I wake up early to complete a cross-fit workout before school, and then after school, I go running and practice my shooting and freestyle skills.  Later, I do a double practice session with two teams (my age group and one older to push me more) before I return to the house for study hall.  By living with 60+ students from various states and countries,  I've learned to appreciate and value differences, communicate with different languages, manage my time wisely, and to stay motivated and focused toward my goals.

I currently play Attacking or Defending Midfielder, but I'm capable and open to playing other positions.  The St. Benedict’s Soccer Program has joined forces with Cedar Stars Academy where I have the opportunity to play year round as a team in a residency program.  I am looking for a college that resembles a community like St. Benedict's.  I hope to study sports medicine to help me improve my game and then help others maximize their potential.  Thank you for your consideration.
