My name is Zachary Barown and I hope to have the opportunity to be an asset on the soccer field while earning my degree.
Don’t let my current size deter you. I have speed, excellent ball handling skills as well as the strength to handle myself against bigger players. I am also extremely coachable. While my speed is my greatest physical asset, I believe my endurance and leadership set me apart. I am often the "peacemaker" on the field. When things get heated, I will often reel my teammate(s) back into focus on the game. I try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates.
I lettered as a freshman on my schools Varsity Soccer team as well as earning a Berkshire League Scholar athlete award. I have also had the opportunity to attend a couple college ID camps in the past year where I gained a lot of valuable information both on the field and about the recruitment process.
In the classroom, not all subjects come easy to me, but I study hard and maintain a high GPA (A-B Student). I also am a certified referee for youth soccer games and volunteer coach at my towns rec soccer program.
I would like to attend a college where I can gain a valuable education that will position me for a future career as well as allow my skills to contribute on the soccer field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a role model and leader to all my peers and teammates.
