Personal Statement

My name is Robert Castro and I live in Santa Clarita, California. I am currently a junior at Golden Valley High School where I continue to challenge myself with AP and honor classes. I am currently 6'0 and weigh 150 pounds. I am a defender that can play anywhere on the back line and also succeed as a defensive midfielder. I am strong with aerial balls and love winning headers. I enjoy putting in aggressive tackles and winning individual battles. I am not afraid to take on a player at a 1v1 when the situation calls for it.  My ability to stay calm under pressure are great assets in any position I play.  As a freshman I was Junior Varsity Captain and awarded the scholar athlete award (3.5 or higher award) as well as the team MVP.  I was the only freshman to be called up for Varsity.  I am captain of my Varsity high school team, lead my team in assist, awarded MVP, and was awarded the scholar athlete award once again. In addition, I was also one out of the only two sophomores in my conference to be awarded All Conference Second Team. I play on Real So Cal flight 1 and finished third in league while I captained the team. I am passionate about the game and the many lessons the game has taught me. I am extremely competitive and want to compete at the highest level possible for me. I always welcome constructive criticism making me a very coach-able player that is ready to soak in any piece of advice. I do not mind hard work at all. I take this attitude into school as I am a serious student aspiring to attend a university with a quality education, in which I can get a degree in Information Systems and Business Administration.

Thank You for viewing my profile and for your consideration.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
