My spirit can not be broken. I have had some significant challenges in my life in that have taught me that nothing comes easy and if you want something bad enough you must work hard to achieve it. I will approach my college experience with the same drive and determination that I have lived my life so far.
While at college I wish to push myself academically and physically. I plan to attend a DII or DIII school and become an engineer. I entered high school having already completed High School Algebra I and I am currently in Accelerated Algebra II as a freshman. I am currently enrolled in all honors level classes and am gaining College Running Start credit for several classes. I hope to maintain my current 4.0 GPA and take some AP classes.
In addition to my strong academic program, I run Cross Country in the fall, ski in the winter and play lacrosse for my school’s spring team. Along with these sports, I play on Four Leaf New England Lacrosse year round. I participate in my school’s concert band, playing the clarinet. I take pride in knowing that I am honest and determined in what I do. I also take pride in knowing that I get along well with my teammates and can fit in with almost every type of team.
I became familiar with lacrosse through a friend and tried it out. After the first practice, I knew that I had found the perfect sport. I have now been playing for 8 years and still enjoy it as much as the first day. I can use both hands and can do most types of dodges. I can pass and catch well and can shoot pretty fast. I know the flow of the game and have been told that I have a high lacrosse IQ. I can play my position very well and can use my body along with my feet to work my man to the outside or down the alley. I can also turn an attackman around if they dodge from X. I can slide with body and stick if needed and can learn defenses quick. I can do both 1 and 2 slides and can play man down.
