Rowing plays a major role in my life. Throughout my years of rowing, it has helped me become the person I am today; teaching me valuable life lessons and rounding me into a respectable individual. I have become open to taking on leadership positions because of the confidence I have gained and the willingness to help others when needed.
My freshman year at boarding school, I was the youngest person in the varsity boat, but I was welcomed into the boat with open arms from the upper-classmen. Together we bonded, and through the bond that my boat shared, we carried ourselves to an undefeated season. I want the chance to be as welcoming and as great of a leader as the girls in my boat that year because becoming fast is something one cannot do alone. They helped me learn more than I ever have within one season, which ultimately helped blossom my love and passion for rowing.
I would love the opportunity to row in college to contribute to a team in the best way that I can. I love to go fast and I love to do it as a team.
